Damien, thanks for uploading all those great pictures. I love the rejected concept pictures. There are some really sharp designs. Too bad none of those every made it further.

Can you share with us what your father did for Packard? I am sure everyone would be interested if you care to share that with us.

Thats a nice looking hardtop! That would be a killer custom project to build one like that.

Interesting how they used two differnt tail light designs to test different conceps on the same physical model.

Speaking of rejected concepts. Has anyone seen any pictures of proposed Packard fastbacks for the '51 model year? (Not the custom Pinnifaria styled car built by Peter Portugal several years back, but factory concepts.) I've heard that Briggs Body had worked up some models. I'd love to see those if they exist.

As Owen said, the Monte Carlo 2 still exists. It is owned by a good friend of mine. I have seen it a couple of times. It is in very rough condition.

Brian,
The Packard article from the May 1953, "CARS MAGAZINE" was scanned and sent to BK today, Also a scan showing a 3/4 front view of the Monte Carlo (unfortunately the pic appeared on 2 pages and has a line running through it, not the best pic but worth looking at) was also e-mailed to BK. Hopefully, BK can convert and post these files to the this thread and the website.

From some research that I have done the remaining Packard Monte Carlo was located in Michigan some years ago.

Even if the Monte Carlo 2 is in rough shape it would be interesting to look at some pic's of it in it's current condition. Hopefully, you can post some pic's to this thread.
